magine turning a childhood hobby into a full time career. Some would say it's impossible, others would say it's living a dream, and still others would say it would take a bit of magic. Jeffrey Olds would agree with the last two statements, because he is living his dream with his childhood hobby, and, yes, it does take a bit of magic. Jeff is quickly climbing the ranks as one of mid-Michigan's most popular entertainers. He is affectionately known as "Jeff the Magician."

While growing up on the outskirts of Flint, Michigan, Jeff fell in love with the art of magic around the age of 7. He had an uncle who knew a few card tricks that would fascinate Jeff for hours. When we was 10, his parents hired a magician to come to the house to perform for his sister Michelle's sixth birthday party. That was the turning point for Jeff. "I remember that show like it was yesterday. I sat there mesmerized and saw how much fun the magician was having! Even though part of me wanted to someday become a doctor or a fireman, the idea of becoming a professional magician was born that day."

As a teenager, Jeff was bitten quite badly by the "magic bug" and began purchasing many magical props and started performing for his friends and family. Soon, by about age 15, he was putting on neighborhood shows and practicing his craft as often as possible.

ith a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan in 1990 and a Master's of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Marketing from Michigan State University in 1993, he now runs his own magical entertainment company across the state of Michigan.

eff the Magician is a member of the Magician's Guild of Lansing, Ring 54 of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. A fan of all types of magic, Jeff makes his living performing close-up or table magic at several area restaurants as well as for many corporate events and functions state wide. Jeff also performs for children and adult shows where he is particularly fond of what is known as "Mentalism", the magic of mind reading and predictions.

s well as being Greater Lansing's only full time professional magician, Jeff also teaches his love of magic to children and adults in the form or private or semi-private in home lessons, and group work shops at schools, libraries and bookstores. With a flare for the marketing of magic tricks and props, Jeff has begun retailing amazing yet simple magical effect for the general public. Every trick comes with easy to understand instructions and everything needed for performance. As well as the individual tricks, Jeff also has full magic sets and has just recently produced his own instructional video series that will teach you amazing tricks right in the comfort of your own home.

eff, his wife Shawn, and their two kids Rachel and Ethan, live in East Lansing, Michigan. Ethan was born in January of 2005. Jeff says his family is "The real Magic in my life."
